Kaufman County, particularly the Forney area, has had a transformative 2024, as a surge in new businesses continues to enhance the local economy and enrich the quality of life for Devonshire residents. The area’s growth has been nothing short of remarkable, offering a wider variety of shopping, dining, and services for the community.

A Vibrant Business Landscape in 2024

This year saw an incredible array of businesses across industries hosting ribbon-cutting ceremonies, with many new options opening their doors for Kaufman County residents. The Forney Chamber of Commerce has been at the forefront of these developments, helping foster community connections and supporting business success. The Chamber’s efforts culminated in hosting 50 ribbon-cutting ceremonies in 2024 alone, demonstrating their commitment to economic growth.

Among the businesses making their debut this year are The Joint Chiropractic, a welcome addition for those seeking accessible chiropractic care, and CareNow Urgent Care, offering crucial medical services for the community. Health and wellness options also expanded with openings like Essence Dentistry & Cosmetics, Treasured Pets Vet Hospital, and Alegria Med Spa. Residents can also look forward to the construction of a new Texas Health Resources hospital in Forney, expected to be completed in 2027, which will further enhance local healthcare services. Meanwhile, families gained access to innovative child-focused services like Code Ninjas, where kids can learn coding in a fun and interactive way.

In the dining sector, Forney residents celebrated the arrival of diverse restaurants such as Outback Steakhouse, Sunshine’s Wings & Catfish, Conti Seafood Eatery, Brunch Room Bistro, and Charley’s Cheesesteaks. Coffee lovers were thrilled by White Rhino Coffee, Dutch Bros and a new Starbucks location, while dessert enthusiasts welcomed Buttermilk Sky Pie.

Retail and home services also experienced significant growth. Kohl's brought more shopping options for residents, while businesses like E&D Premier Roofing & Solar, Copeland Home Services, Bandit Busters and All About Floors provided more options for home improvement and home services. Luxury Moving & Transportation further simplified relocation for those moving into this thriving area.

Financial services flourished with openings like Texas Regional Bank, Stewart Title, and First State Bank, ensuring that residents and businesses have convenient access to banking, loans, and title services. Additionally, the real estate industry got a boost with the entry of companies like William Ryan Homes, Pacesetter Homes, and Century Communities, providing more housing options for the area’s rapidly growing population.

Even the entertainment and nightlife scenes expanded, with the openings of Lucky’s Bar & Grill and the family-friendly Gather to Heal offering new venues for socializing and community events. Meanwhile, businesses like SMB Fitness introduced recreational and wellness opportunities to the area.

Anticipation for the Future

Looking ahead, the momentum shows no signs of slowing down. One of the most exciting future developments is the Villages at Gateway, a mixed-use project poised to bring even more retail, dining, and entertainment options to Kaufman County. This ambitious development is expected to become a central hub for shopping and socializing, further enhancing the area’s appeal.

They also contribute to a stronger local economy, supporting job creation and boosting property values.

The Forney Chamber of Commerce has been a key player in this transformation, connecting businesses with the community and celebrating their successes. Their work ensures that Devonshire residents not only benefit from new establishments but also enjoy the sense of community pride that comes with a thriving local economy.
